GUITARO are a Canadian three-piece formed of Mark Wiebe, Jeremy Unrau and Heather Warkentin. They’ve been in and around the music world for quite some time now, starting off in 1997 before embarking upon a 6 year hiatus.
Now they’re back and they’ve brought some good tunes with them. Their new album, JJ’s Crystal Palace has been described as ‘space disco,’ and you know what? I’m inclined to agree.
With shimmering synths and eerie and husky vocals, it is slightly unsettling and serves to isolate you. Feelings you could imagine having in space. For me, this is very reminiscent of Air and you most certainly would not be disappointed if Cut Copy released an album like this.
