The History Of Apple Pie

I find that as an idiot-blogger type, Summer is a great time to blog because you can be really lazy and just look up festival line-ups and just pull of a band you’ve never heard of before and just whack it on the blog with a pretentious and some excessive analysis on influences and style.

Obviously, I am (not) above such tactics. Today, and every day from now on in fact, I think you should listen to The History Of Apple Pie. These guys really are as American as apple pie, in that they are not American. Based in London, this 5 piece have only been together for a few months, but they already sound wicked awesome. Somewhat reminiscent of 80-90’s alternative rock, even if their name sounds a bit twee and dreamy.

Just listen and make your mind up for yourselves, I’m not a dictator. Just a sharer.

Oh, and did I mention they’re playing at Field Day? What a coincidence!

Saw these guys at Great Escape. Well kind of. I was concentrating more on drawing moustaches onto pictures of Pete Doherty in the free copies of NME we’d got. They sound better here than I remember them sounding there.
